(when you’re overwhelmed, highly sensitive or neurodivergent)
Resistance, protest, activism – what happens if you want to…but you can’t?
So many folk, like me, who are highly sensitive, neurodivergent, disabled…or just plain overwhelmed feel the current injustices and want to help make a change.
Here are 8 ways we CAN make a difference…
The first two REST and NERVOUS SYSTEM CARE are what all the others rely on. They are not selfish or self indulgent – they are both radical and revolutionary.
It always seems impossible until it’s done.
Nelson Mandela

1. REST – patriarchal capitalism is built on FORCED labour, UN(DER)paid labour of women and minorities and worth is valued by productivity.
2. LIVE CYCLICALLY resist the push to 24/7 365 productivity. Live according to your biological cycles and the seasons.
3. NURTURE COMMUNITY – connect with others, show up… patriarchal capitalism is built on the cult of the individual and our inherent separation.
4. SUPPORT INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES – especially those run by women and minorities. The majority of our money goes to multinational corporations, upholding the financial dominance of the billionaire class.
5. VOTE FOR GOOD HUMANS – in big and small elections – they’re relying on feelings of apathy and powerlessness to dissuade voting.
6. PRIORITISE NERVOUS SYSTEM CARE – the current US regime relies on fear, cruelty, shock, and ‘flooding the zone’ to disable nervous systems.
7. AMPLIFY – share reliable news from smaller outlets as well as ideas and information that empower & inspire.
8. EDUCATE – share your knowledge and counter disinformation.
